Ladies... (and maybe some gentlemen who want to know about this), I write this blog especially for you (and also for me). Before I went to the BLOGHER16 and interview Karen (one of the patient with endometriosis) and Doctor Parveen Vahora. I don't really think that endometriosis really serious.
So what is endometriosis? Hmmm... every women have uterus right? And in the normal uterus, there's a tissue that line inside it (it called endometrium). BUT.. in women who have endometriosis, that endometrium / tissue lining outside the uterus, it can be in the ovary, fallopian tube, even in the bowel (IMAGINE how painful it will be???)
This will cause pain (Duh !! of course!!) and problem with the menstruation. Some women will experience the inflammation of this endometriosis or even bleeding and it will make it difficult to get pregnant.
But don't worry... fortunately there's treatment available for this :) ...
Usually MD will offer you the pain medication first before they offer you to get the surgery. Hormone therapy also sometimes used by MD to relieve pain for the patient's with endometriosis.
Hmmm..... How do I know if I have endometriosis or not? This are some signs and symptoms so you can decide whether you need to see your MD or not yet :
Now you know what is endometriosis, what is the sign and symptoms, and what are the treatments available for it. But what should you do if you still waiting for your MD appointment? And in the meantime you have a lot of pain?
Great! You know now that endometriosis is serious but this is treatable. Even though nobody know why and how this happen? Some people said it's because the retrograde menstruation, the blood go backward to the fallopian tube (huh?!) or the surgical scar (the scar from the surgical attach to the endometrial cell) or even immune system disorder (in the other word, because this immune system have some "disorder" so this is become stupid, can't recognize that this endometrium cell is inside or outside uterus).
But again... nobody know what the real cause of it. The important thing is this is treatable! That's it!! Thanks GOD! Ok,Ladies! I hope this information help you understand what is Endometriosis and when you need to seek help.
P.S: Thank you www.MeInEndo.com
